Our Organic Cotton Stretch Boxers are more than just an everyday favourite - they are part of our sustainability journey.
Through organic cotton, solar panels on our factories, recycled materials, and renewable electricity, we are taking step by step towards our goals and reducing our impact on the planet.
But the journey doesn’t end here. We have big plans for the future.
Organic Cotton
Organic cotton is grown without chemical pesticides, resulting in a cleaner fibre. The material is soft against the skin, and its natural breathability allows air to pass through and efficiently absorbs moisture, contributing to a fresh feeling all day long.
This makes organic cotton an excellent choice for boxers and underwear in general. Comfort combined with durability means the garments withstand frequent use and many washes without losing quality.

Solar panels in factories
When factories install solar panels, they gain their own source of electricity. This means part of the energy used in production comes directly from the sun instead of fossil fuels through the local grid.
This is how solar energy contributes:
Producing electricity directly from the sun
Reducing emissions and climate impact
Making the factory less dependent on the local grid
Strengthening production for the future
Organic cotton stretch boxers are manufactured in China. The supplier is very forward-thinking on climate issues and together we are driving development forward.
An important part of achieving our climate goals is the use of renewable energy. Therefore, it is very positive that the factory we collaborate with installed solar cells on the roof in 2023, which means that a large part of the energy comes from its own energy source and reduces their dependence on the local electricity grid.
At the same time they get a production that both strengthens resilience and creates value for the future.
Recycled material
In addition to organic cotton, the Organic Cotton Stretch Boxers also include recycled materials.
In our products, we use waistbands made of polyester, polyamide, and elastane. Today, both the polyester and polyamide are recycled, which reduces the use of new resources.
The elastane we use is not yet recycled, as it remains a challenge to achieve the same high quality in recycled form, but we are closely following developments.
Recycled cotton
We are also working to increase the proportion of recycled cotton in our collections and from the autumn and winter collection 2026 the Organic Cotton Stretch Boxers consist of 18% recycled cotton.
Unlike newly grown cotton, recycled cotton requires neither land nor water for cultivation, which means a significantly lower impact on the environment.
One of our goals is to increase the proportion of recycled cotton in our products and a product we are very proud of and which actually contains 71.3% recycled cotton and 28.7% recycled polyester is the women's sweater Borg Boyfriend Sweatshirt which is available in several stylish colors and with trendy prints. Renewable Electricity in Factories
We work with our suppliers toward renewable electricity – preferably through on-site energy production, or other solutions when that’s not possible.
For example, when factories install solar panels, it does not always cover 100% of the factory's electricity needs. The rest of the electricity therefore needs to be purchased.
To ensure that this electricity is renewable, factories can purchase so-called EAC – Electricity Attribute Certificates. These green electricity certificates guarantee that the corresponding amount of electricity comes from renewable sources.
There are three main ways for factories to switch to renewable electricity:
Produce electricity on-site – for example, with solar panels.
Invest in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) – long-term contracts that support renewable energy projects nearby, such as solar or wind farms.
Buy EAC certificates – the simplest and fastest option to reach 100% renewable electricity.
By combining on-site solar panels with certificates, factories can run their entire production on renewable energy. In the long term, more companies demanding green certificates also drive global investments in renewable sources like solar and wind power.

Full focus ahead - We have a lot going on
We are constantly working to find better alternatives for both materials and manufacturing processes, such as dyeing and knitting.
Knitting and weaving mainly use electricity, while dyeing requires a lot of heat energy. It is an energy-intensive process where solar cells are not enough, and factories need other types of heat energy, either through purchases from the network or through their own production.
Our search for better alternatives is an active effort where, among other things, different dyeing techniques are reviewed to find more efficient processes that save energy and water.
Innovations in recycled materials
We also strive to use more recycled materials in our products. Recycled elastane is something we are looking at but which is difficult to use today because it does not reach the same function and quality as regular elastane.
On the other hand, bio-based elastane is being developed, but these innovations are still in an early stage, but we are positive about what the future has to offer and are constantly following developments.
